Merck's Iriodin line has been a reference standard in effect pigments for decades. Strong luster, consistent particle size distribution, broad color range — the reasons formulators specify it are well understood. The question that comes up more often now isn't whether Iriodin performs, but whether it's the only option worth specifying.

Silver white pearlescent pigments are the baseline of effect pigment formulation — the ones every formulator reaches for first. They're also the ones where small differences in particle size, substrate purity, and TiO₂ coating quality make the biggest practical difference in your final product.

KT-6057 is a Flash Green natural mica pearlescent pigment in the 10–100μm particle size range — the coarser-format green grade in the KT-6000 Multicolor Series, optimized for applications where visible individual-platelet green sparkle is required alongside the silver specular reflection characteristic of the series. The 10–100μm distribution spans both the fine fraction (contributing green pearl background coverage) and the coarse fraction (contributing visible individual flash points) — producing a green pearl surface with pronounced sparkle that the standard 10–60μm grade does not achieve at equivalent loading. KT-6040 is an Ocean Blue natural mica pearlescent pigment — a colored mica grade from the KT-6000 Multicolor Series that produces a rich ocean blue absorption color at side and diffuse viewing angles, with a silver-white specular reflection at the direct reflection angle. At the standard 10–60μm particle size, it delivers a balanced blue pearl shimmer for coatings, nail lacquer, soap, epoxy systems, and decorative applications. KT-6025 is a True Red natural mica pearlescent pigment in the 10–60μm particle size range — a colored mica grade from the KT-6000 Multicolor Series, produced by depositing a light-absorbing red colorant layer on a TiO₂-coated mica substrate. The result is a dual-effect visual: a silver-white reflection at the specular viewing angle and a saturated red absorption color at side and diffuse angles. At 10–60μm, KT-6025 suits coatings, nail lacquer, decorative applications, soap, and epoxy systems where a clean, high-chroma red pearlescent effect is required across a range of substrates.

KT-500 is a Bronze natural mica metallic pigment in the 10–60μm particle size range — a mica flake coated with iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) that produces a warm bronze metallic luster with strong opacifying/concealing properties and high chemical and physical stability. Unlike the KT-300 Gold Series which combines TiO₂ and iron oxide for a pearlescent gold effect, the KT-500 Metal Luster Series uses iron oxide alone on the mica substrate — producing a more opaque, warm metallic character with higher covering power and a distinctly different visual weight. At 10–60μm, KT-500 covers coatings, cosmetics, nail lacquer, soap, epoxy, and decorative craft applications from a single grade.

KT-355 is a Glitter Gold natural mica pearlescent pigment in the 20–120μm particle size range — the glitter-dominant gold grade in the KT-300 series, optimized for epoxy flooring, resin art, decorative coatings, craft applications, and nail lacquer where visible individual-platelet gold sparkle is the primary visual requirement. By starting at 20μm rather than 10μm, KT-355 removes the fine background pearl fraction present in KT-351 Flash Gold, concentrating the visual energy toward bold, individual gold flash reflections. The iron oxide and TiO₂ coating produces a warm gold body color visible on any substrate without requiring a dark base — practical for the broad range of base colors encountered in epoxy and decorative applications.

KT-235 is a green pearl interference pigment from the KT-200 natural mica Interference Series — the thickest TiO₂ coating grade in the standard interference color range, tuned to reflect green-phase wavelengths through selective thin-film interference. Like all KT-200 interference pigments, the powder appears off-white in bulk; the green pearl color becomes visible only over dark, black, or transparent substrates. For cosmetic formulators, coating developers, and craft suppliers working with substrates where base color can be controlled, KT-235 provides a clean, dye-free green iridescent pearl that is stable over time and compatible with standard binder systems.

KT-225 is a blue pearl interference mica pigment from the KT-200 Interference Series — a thick-layer rutile TiO₂-coated natural mica grade that selectively reflects blue-phase wavelengths through thin-film optical interference. Applied over dark or transparent substrates, it delivers a clean, saturated blue pearl effect without the use of dyes or blue colorants. The interference mechanism is substrate-dependent: base color selection is the primary formulation decision before specifying this grade, and pairing with complementary-colored (orange-yellow) bases will suppress the blue and produce an unsatisfactory result.
