Kolortek Interference Series pigments are engineered to produce distinct iridescent colors through the precision control of light interference. Unlike standard silver-white pearls, these pigments utilize a thicker layer of Titanium Dioxide to selectively reflect specific wavelengths—resulting in vibrant Gold, Red, Violet, Blue, and Green highlights. Available in both natural mica (KT-200) and synthetic fluorphlogopite (KT-7200) substrates, they offer high-performance color-shifting effects for premium industrial and cosmetic applications.

Paints & coatings, Printing inks (fine grades), Plastics, Cosmetics, Soap, Nail products, Craft materials, etc.The Interference Series is based on the same substrate technology as standard silver-white pearl pigments but incorporates a thicker titanium dioxide coating layer. This controlled thickness enables selective light interference, strengthening certain wavelengths while suppressing complementary colors.
The result is a color travel or iridescent effect such as:Platinum Gold, Red Pearl, Violet Pearl, Blue Pearl, Green Pearl, etc.
KT-200 Series (Natural Mica Based)
Composition: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide
Provides a balanced interference effect suitable for decorative coatings, plastics, and inks where natural mica-based performance is sufficient.
KT-7200 Series (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite Based)
Composition: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide
Synthetic substrate offers:
Higher purity and visual clarity
Reduced dark particle visibility
More uniform color development
Improved thermal stability in higher-temperature processing
Because interference pigments rely on reflected light, base color selection is critical.
When applied over dark or black backgrounds, the interference color becomes more pronounced.
When combined with complementary base colors, the visual effect may appear muted.
Using similar color phases in the base system can enhance color intensity.
Fine particle sizes are generally selected for printing inks and cosmetics, while medium sizes are common in coatings and plastics.
Durability
Resistant to UV, high temperatures, and chemical exposure, ensuring the iridescent effect remains stable in both water-borne and solvent-borne systems.
